BoJack Horseman, a washed-up TV actor famous for his role as the main character of a '90s sitcom, attempts to rise to popularity again by hiring Diane as a ghost writer to make his biography. They're joined by BoJack's former lover/agent Princess Carolyn, his rival and Diane's boyfriend Mr. Peanutbutter and BoJack's "roommate" Todd in their misadventures and attempts at becoming better people.

Season 1 (August 22, 2014)

1. "The BoJack Horseman Story, Chapter One": To help with the memoir he hopes will put him back in the spotlight, BoJack hires a ghostwriter.
2. "BoJack Hates the Troops": BoJack finds himself the subject of national media attention after he calls the troops "jerks."
3. "Prickly-Muffin": BoJack reconnects with a friend from his past who moves into his house and creates pandemonium.
4. "Zoes and Zeldas": BoJack decides to mentor Todd; Diane's ex-boyfriend writes an article about Mr. Peanutbutter.
5. "Live Fast, Diane Nguyen": A business trip for BoJack and Diane takes a detour; Todd runs a scam that gets him in trouble.
6. "Our A-Story is a 'D' Story": BoJack is jealous of Diane's relationship with Mr. Peanutbutter; Todd is in a new environment.
7. "Say Anything": BoJack sabotages himself with an epic bender; Princess Carolyn's agency merges with another.

Mr. Peanutbutter: You're a millionaire movie star with a girlfriend who loves you, acting in your dream movie. What more do you want? What else could the universe possibly owe you?

BoJack: I... want to feel good about myself... the way you do. And I don't know how. I don't know if I can.

Following the release of his book, BoJack gets his dream ever since he entered Hollywoo, to play Secretariat in his biopic, falling in love with Wanda Pierce, a producer who has recently woken up from a 30-year-long coma in the process. Princess Carolyn starts feeling unappreciated in Vigor when her successes go unnoticed by the company and starts plotting with a coworker. Diane has to make new decisions in her life facing her 35th birthday and having to choose a cozy job in Hollywoo instead of traveling to a war-torn Cordovia. Mr. Peanutbutter faces a new moment in his career in television. Todd experiences a loss of purpose in his own life.

Season 2 (July 17, 2015)

1. "Brand New Couch": BoJack hopes a positive attitude will change his life, but his new outlook doesn't work well with his new acting job.
2. "Yesterdayland": BoJack is attracted to a woman who is probably the only one in town unaware of his fame; Todd opens a theme park.
3. "Still Broken": The cast of Horsin' Around attends a funeral, only to find it turning into a treasure hunt; Princess Caroline and Mr. Peanutbutter use the funeral as a schmooze-fest.
4. "After the Party": A surprise birthday party leads Princess Carolyn, BoJack, Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter to learn important lessons about love.
5. "Chickens": BoJack really wants his director, Kelsey, to like him; Kelsey's daughter, with Diane and Todd, helps a chicken on the run from the police.
6. "Higher Love": When Mr. Peanutbutter's agent dies, Princess Carolyn sees an opportunity; BoJack is unnerved after he says the L word to Wanda.
7. "Hank After Dark": Mr. Peanutbutter's new show is in jeopardy when Diane goes off-script during BoJack's book tour; Todd becomes involved in international affairs.
8. "Let's Find Out": BoJack's stint as a celebrity guest star on Mr. Peanutbutter's new game show takes an unexpected turn.
9. "The Shot": BoJack enlists Kelsey, Todd, Princess Carolyn and Mr. Peanutbutter to help him snag a shot he considers crucial to the Secretariat movie.
10. "Yes, And...": Todd becomes involved in improvisational comedy; Wanda is convinced Diane is a bad influence on BoJack when he faces a career crisis.
11. "Escape from L.A.": BoJack gets a taste of life outside the Hollywood bubble when he takes a road trip to visit an old friend.
12. "Out to Sea": BoJack has a moment of clarity when Todd moves out to join the improv comedy group on its special cruise ship.

BoJack is now on the run for a Oscar for his role in "Secretariat", and attempts to make the most of this while facing his own self-doubt on whether he deserves it or should win, alienating his friends in the process and with his new relationship. Mr. Peanutbutter and Diane face a new moment in their lives where they have to make new decisions about family, while Diane works with Princess Carolyn in her newly open agency and Mr. Peanutbutter, joined by Todd and his former girlfriend Emily to create a new business.

Season 3 (July 22, 2016)

1. "Start Spreading The News": BoJack begins promoting Secretariat in New York.
2. "The BoJack Horseman Show": Set in 2007, BoJack is given an opportunity to star in a new show. Mr. Peanutbutter meets Diane.
3. "BoJack Kills": BoJack and Diane are suspected of murder when they find a dead whale.
4. "Fish Out of Water": BoJack spends the day underwater while promoting Secretariat. He tries to contact Kelsey to apologize to her.
5. "Love And/Or Marriage": BoJack accidentally convinces a woman to back out of her wedding. Todd encounters an old flame. Diane gets some surprising news.
6. "Brrap Brrap Pew Pew": Diane decides to have an abortion. She inadvertently tweets that she is having an abortion using Sextina Aquafina's Twitter account, which makes Sextina an icon for the pro-choice movement. Meanwhile, BoJack is targeted by notorious Hollywoo prankster Jurj Clooners.
7. "Stop the Presses": BoJack calls to try to cancel a newspaper subscription and receives good advice from the paper's customer service representative.
8. "Old Acquaintance": VIM and Gekko-Rabitowitz get into a fierce battle over finding a star for David Pincher's new film trilogy. BoJack is approached by his former co-star Ethan who wishes to create a Horsin' Around sequel series. Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter visit the latter's brother in their home town in the Labrador Peninsula.
9. "Best Thing That Ever Happened": BoJack and Princess Carolyn have one final big discussion about their professional and personal relationship at Elefante while a food critic is visiting the restaurant.
10. "It's You": After receiving news of his Oscar nomination, BoJack starts alienating everyone close to him.
11. "That's Too Much, Man!": BoJack and Sarah Lynn go on an epic bender while (unsuccessfully) trying to make amends to those they hurt.
12. "That Went Well": The entire cast moves on to new opportunities, including BoJack... or does he?

Hollyhock: That voice... the one that tells you that you're worthless and stupid and ugly?
BoJack: Yeah?
Hollyhock: It goes away, right? It's just, like, a teenage girl thing but then it goes away?
BoJack: ...yeah.

Returning to Hollywoo after a prolonged absence, BoJack is approached by his possible illegitimate daughter Hollyhock, who enlists his help in a search for her own mother and accidentally ropes BoJack's mother Beatrice, who has succumbed to dementia, into his life again in the process. Mr. Peanutbutter's ex-wife Katrina convinces the former to run for governor, straining his relationship with Diane, who is attempting to use her new job in the varieties blog "Girl Croosh" to make a difference the best way she can. Princess Carolyn tries to start a family with Ralph. Todd starts a new weird business by himself and starts coming to terms with his new found sexuality.

Season 4 (September 8, 2017)

1. "See Mr. Peanutbutter Run": BoJack has been missing for several months. In the mean time, when Mr. Peanutbutter's attempts at recalling California Governor Woodchuck fail, he challenges the latter to a ski race for the position.
2. "The Old Sugarman Place": We see what happened during BoJack's absence from Hollywoo at his grandparents’ summer home, as well as a glimpse into his mother Beatrice's childhood.
3. "Hooray! Todd Episode!": In the middle of a particularly busy day, Todd is approached by a teenaged horse named Hollyhock who believes BoJack to be her father and needs his help to prove it.
4. "Commence Fracking": Mr. Peanutbutter's accidental endorsem*nt of fracking drives a wedge between him and Diane. Princess Carolyn tries to conceive a child with Ralph. BoJack helps Hollyhock search for her mother.
5. "Thoughts and Prayers": Princess Carolyn's PR campaign to minimize the effects of recent mass shootings on Courtney Portnoy's new movie leads to Diane pushing gun ownership as a means of female empowerment. Hollyhock convinces BoJack to introduce her to his mother Beatrice.
6. "Stupid Piece of Sh*t": We get a close look at BoJack's mental process as he deals with having both Hollyhock and Beatrice living with him. Princess Carolyn teams up with Rutabaga Rabitowitz to plan a sham marriage between Todd and Courtney.
7. "Underground": Things go out of control at Mr. Peanubutter's fundraiser when a cave in buries the entire house underground.
8. "The Judge": BoJack gets very protective of Hollyhock when she hooks up with a Hollywoo production intern. Tensions arise when Princess Carolyn meets Ralph's parents. Mr. Peanutbutter drops out of the governor race to support Woodchuck, which might do more harm than good.
9. "Ruthie": Princess Carolyn's future descendant tells the story of a very bad day for the former.
10. "lovin that cali lifestyle!!": Jessica Biel's climb in the polls forces Diane to come up with a way to derail her campaign. Princess Carolyn finds a new purpose after her recent losses. Todd tries to prevent his clown dentist business from shutting down. Hollyhock comes down with an unexpected condition.
11. "Time's Arrow": We get a look at Beatrice's past through her dementia-affected mind, including her childhood traumas, and meeting and marriage to Butterscotch Horseman, ending with a surprising revelation about their family.
12. "What Time Is It Right Now": Princess Carolyn attempts to convince BoJack to star in her new project. Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter attempt to start a new phase of their lives. BoJack finds the truth about Hollyhock's parentage and attempts to reconnect with her.

BoJack starts his new career as the main star of the gritty detective show Philbert, which turns out to be as bad as he expected. Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter deal with their divorce the best they can: while Diane starts anew and starts co-writing Philbert, Mr. Peanutbutter joins the cast and starts dating the waitress Pickles. Princess Carolyn starts producing the show and the journey to get a baby from an adoption agency. Todd tries to see where his relationship with Yolanda can go and becomes the new head of WhatTimeIsItNow's streaming content.

Season 5 (September 14, 2018)

1. "The Light Bulb Scene": BoJack has misgivings about his new show. Princess Carolyn visits an adoption agency. Todd interviews for a job at WhatTimeIsItRightNow.com.
2. "The Dog Days Are Over": Diane divorces Mr. Peanutbutter and moves into a shabby studio. Feeling melancholy, she travels to Vietnam to get away from it all.
3. "Planned Obsolescence": Todd meets Yolanda's parents, who don't know she's asexual. Mr. Peanutbutter romances a young waitress. Gina confesses a childhood dream to BoJack.
4. "BoJack the Feminist": When Princess Carolyn casts a disgraced celeb in "Philbert", BoJack inadvertently takes a stand. Mr. Peanutbutter tries to toughen up his image.
5. "The Amelia Earhart Story": Painful memories come rushing back when Princess Carolyn visits her hometown and meets a pregnant teen. A stunt goes awry on the "Philbert" set.
6. "Free Churro": BoJack delivers an eulogy at a funeral.
7. "INT. SUB": Diane's therapist encourages her to set boundaries with BoJack. A missing string cheese ignites a dispute between Todd and Princess Carolyn.
8. "Mr. Peanutbutter's Boos": At BoJack's 25th annual Halloween party, Pickles gets a crash course in Mr. Peanutbutter's romantic history — and some advice from Diane.
9. "Ancient History": A visiting Hollyhock dumps BoJack's painkillers, sending him on a desperate search for more. Todd tries to solve Emily's dating dilemma.
10. "Head in the Clouds": At the "Philbert" premiere party, Princess Carolyn deftly negotiates a deal, Gina steps into the limelight, and Diane confronts BoJack.
11. "The Showstopper": "Philbert" is a hit, and filming begins on Season 2. But as BoJack spirals deeper into addiction, he loses his grip on reality.
12. "The Stopped Show": In the midst of the latest PR crisis, Princess Carolyn gets a life-changing opportunity. With Diane's help, BoJack finally faces the music.

In Part 1, BoJack starts rehab while considering both why he came and what led him down the road he ended up on. Diane begins work on an across-the-nation tour while also dealing with the realities of a changing corporate America and the man she meets on her journey. Mr. Peanutbutter deals with the guilt he had with sleeping with Diane in the past season, while also engaged to Pickles. Princess Carolyn deals with the realities of being a single, working parent. Todd deals with the healthcare system while also being the universal lackey he always is.

Season 6, Part 1 (October 25, 2019)

1. "A Horse Walks into a Rehab": BoJack checks into Pastiches, a Malibu rehab facility, where he grapples with memories of Sarah Lynn's death and his own troubled childhood.
2. "The New Client": When her nanny quits, Princess Carolyn struggles to balance the demands of work and parenting. Mr. Peanutbutter visits BoJack in rehab.
3. "Feel-Good Story": Girl Croosh sends Diane on the road with rugged cameraman Guy, but she balks when they ask her to produce more feel-good stories.
4. "Surprise!": Todd organizes a surprise wedding for Pickles and Mr. Peanutbutter, but the party quickly goes off the rails when Mr. Peanutbutter makes a confession.
5. "A Little Uneven, Is All": Dr. Champ tells BoJack it's time to leave rehab. Mr. Peanutbutter's reputation takes a hit. In Chicago, Diane wrestles with writer's block.
6. "The Kidney Stays in the Picture": The assistants of Hollywoo go on strike. BoJack tries to help Dr. Champ. When Todd learns that his mother needs a kidney, Diane comes up with a plan.
7. "The Face of Depression": BoJack travels around the country, reconnecting with loved ones, while Mr. Peanutbutter embarks on his own national tour as the face of depression.
8. "A Quick One, While He's Away": A reporter digs into the circ*mstances surrounding Sarah Lynn's death. Hollyhock goes to a party in New York City.

In Part 2, BoJack begins his new job as Wesleyan University's newest drama professor. Unbeknownst to him, a pair of reporters are edging closer to uncovering his connection to Sarah Lynn's death, and his encounter with Penny Carson. When the truth is finally revealed, BoJack must come to terms with the fallout, and salvage his relationships with the people he cares about most. Meanwhile, Diane continues struggling to write her new book, Todd begins dating fellow asexual Maude and realizes he needs to mature, Princess Carolyn deals with balancing her work and family life, and Mr. Peanutbutter attempts to talk Pickles into cheating on him with Joey Pogo.

Season 6, Part 2 (January 31, 2020)

9. "Intermediate Scene Study w/ BoJack Horseman": When BoJack starts teaching an acting class at Wesleyan, Hollyhock sets some boundaries in their relationship.
10. "Good Damage": Diane's depression lifts, but she's still struggling to start writing her memoir. Reporters Paige and Max pay Penny a visit.
11. "Sunk Cost and All That": While Paige and Max question Mr. Peanutbutter at his restaurant, a panicked BoJack tries to piece together what's happening.
12. "Xerox of a Xerox": After the Sarah Lynn story breaks, BoJack gives a live interview on TV. Diane meets Guy's teenage son.
13. "The Horny Unicorn": BoJack gets a new AA sponsor. Todd plans a sophisticated party to impress his parents. Diane gets to know Sonny.
14. "Angela": Angela Diaz reaches out to BoJack. Princess Carolyn gets an offer from Lenny Turteltaub. Todd cooks up a scheme.
15. "The View From Halfway Down": BoJack reconnects with faces from his past.
16. "Nice While It Lasted": A celebration brings people together.

A Christmas Episode was released after Season 1, which is treated as a short film separate from the rest of the series on Netflix.

Christmas Special (December 19, 2014)
